Telepharmacy and digital healthcare have transformed the delivery of pharmaceutical care through the integration of telecommunications, electronic health records, mobile health applications, artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and remote patient monitoring systems. Pharmacists now play a central role in medication therapy management, virtual patient counseling, pharmacovigilance, clinical decision-making, chronic disease monitoring, and interdisciplinary healthcare coordination. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of telehealth services globally and highlighted the importance of pharmacists in maintaining continuity of care. This review discusses the evolution, applications, benefits, challenges, regulatory considerations, and future perspectives of telepharmacy and digital healthcare. The article also summarizes the impact of digital technologies on patient safety, medication adherence, healthcare accessibility, and healthcare economics. Current innovations such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), mobile health (mHealth), and precision medicine are also discussed. Pharmacists are increasingly recognized as key stakeholders in the successful implementation of digital healthcare systems. Proper training, regulatory harmonization, data security, and infrastructure development are essential for sustainable integration of telepharmacy services.
